Chua resigns as MCA deputy president

(Free Malaysia Today) KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek quit as MCA deputy president today and asked for fresh party elections within one month to resolve the party crisis.

Announcing his decision at a packed news conference at the party headquarters here, he said seven other elected central committee (CC) members had also resigned.

Later, at about 3pm, another 13 elected CC members including party vice-president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai submitted their resignation letters dated March 3 to party chief administrative director Lim Chin Hai.
