P. Bala Vs MACC

Doubts have amassed, and the integrity of MACC is at stake. Forget the police force as we all know they lost it long ago. Now P. Balasubramaniam’s lawyer has voiced the intention of a meeting to spark off an investigation, and MACC seems reluctant to even acknowledge receipt of a complaint, by giving lots of excuses to “de-formalize” it. Well, how did TBH get called to the building where he was found dead the next morning? Was there any formal report filed?

Now MACC may eventually try to make it hard for P. Balasubramaniam by suggesting a place where it will be inconvenient to him or one that threatens his safety. Bala may suggest a place where MACC would reject too. And the way it goes, the investigation may never materialise even after 50 years.

Well, why not we think out of the box. I don’t know if there is any law governing the “means” of interrogation. If anyone does, please enlighten me.

Ok, now. Since the integrity of MACC is at stake, and we cannot trust the police force, or the government, could the initial meet-up or interrogation be done using “Video Conferencing”? Get the local authorities, as well as embassy officers to serve as witnesses. Both parties will get their personal witnesses too, and all events are recorded, and documented, as proof of the event taking place. In that case, both parties will feel safe and free to open up. There is no stress, and no duress.

Another suggestion is to make a public investigation, with the press and public as witnesses to the interrogation. In that case, Bala will surely feel safer and MACC will be able to show their capabilities. If they ask silly questions, they will be putting shame to themselves. Well, talk about claiming back public confidence; this would be the perfect time.

I’m sure there are many other more creative suggestions from our SMART and INTELLIGENT RAKYAT. Since the authorities and officers could not access that portion of their brain, we play our part as rakyat to provide suggestions.

Now, what would their call be? (Whatever the “call” may be, just don’t come calling innocent people up and perform some “acting” that could result in a mimic of TBH’s case).
