PKR sacks Zul Noordin

(Free Malaysia Today) – PKR’s central leadership council has decided to sack Kulim-Bandar Baharu MP Zulkifli Noordin from the party following his refusal to face the party’s disciplinary board.

The council arrived at this conclusion after deliberating recommendations forwarded by the board, FMT learnt today.

The party is expected to make an official announcement at the end of its council meeting which started at its headquarters at 2pm today.

FMT also learnt that the decision to sack Zulkifli was not a straightforward matter for the council as the errant parliamentarian also had some backers in the council to defend him.

On Thursday, Zulkifli walked out of his disciplinary hearing after failing to recognise the board which had also included non-Muslim members. The parliamentarian had wanted an all-Muslim board to hear his matter.

The board had however proceeded with its hearing without Zulkifli and submitted its recommendations to the council.
