Selangor Umno To Have Convention To Evaluate Opposition In State

TANJONG KARANG, March 12 (Bernama) — Selangor Umno will have a convention early next month in Shah Alam to discuss and review the performance of the opposition pact for two years in the state.

Deputy chairman of the Selangor Umno liaison committee, Datuk Seri Noh Omar, said the convention being held for the first time will encompass all issues faced by the opposition after the 12th general election.

He said Selangor Umno leaders will be given freedom to voice their views on the issues that beset the opposition Pakatan Rakyat in Selangor headed by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

“We will study closely the effects of the opposition’s administration from the economic, social and political aspects,” Noh told reporters after officiating Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato’ Harun’s 38th Parent-Teacher Assocation general meeting here on Friday.

Noh, who is also Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister charged that Universiti Industri Selangor (Unisel) which is managed by the Selangor Industrial Education Foundation (PIYSB) registered a loss of RM20 million last year.

Umno Selangor is going to hold a convention next month to evaluate the performance of the opposition in Selangor. What is perplexing, however, is that Umno is going to evaluate the performance of Pakatan Rakyat, not of Barisan Nasional.

What seems to have escaped Umno is that Barisan Nasional is the opposition in Selangor, not Pakatan Rakyat. Pakatan Rakyat is the Selangor state government.

This clearly demonstrates the mentality of Umno, which the Malays would classify as gila talak. Go ask a Malay friend what gila talak means and if you do not have any Malay friends then too bad — that’s your problem, not mine.

Read my lips, in Selangor, Pakatan Rakyat is the government. It is not the opposition. Barisan Nasional is the opposition.

Now read the posting below. The impression given is that this is a pro-Umno Blog and it appears to be a piece that is attacking me. Yet, if you read carefully, it is attacking Umno.

I really can’t make out what this person is trying to say. Is he attacking me or is he attacking Umno? Maybe you should be the judge. I do not want to comment further.

RPK’s allegations about the Washington Forum: here’s the truth…

RPK’s arrogance in trying to run down the Malaysian Government over the Washington forum in February was so telling…

I quote what he wrote in Malaysia Today recently:

“…The invitation to the 24 February seminar in Washington last month says there were supposed to be three speakers. Then only Nazri turned up while Gani Patail and Abdul Hamid Mohamed went missing (in case you did not know what it means). And note the part that says: “The discussion will be on the record. Why did they suddenly announce that it is now OFF THE RECORD?”

Nazri then explained that it was just a coincidence he, Gani and Abdul Hamid happened to be in Washington at the same time. He then said he did not know where the two missing persons were.

In other words, Nazri was telling us that these two MIAs were not supposed to be part of or involved in the seminar. But the official invitation clearly mentioned their names. So Nazri lied. And Ernest Bower (the organiser) also did not explain the sudden change of plan.

Something happened in Washington that day. And they are not telling us what really happened. Then they lied and tried to wangle out of this very embarrassing situation by spinning untruths. But they did not know that Malaysia Today has eyes and ears all over the world. So we have now caught them with their pants down.”

RPK thinks the others in Malaysia are as stupid as him by posing such a veiled statement…

It’s all bullshit on RPK’s part, as the truth is that any Government official would have done the same, i.e. to back off from a trap. The truth is both our judge and Attorney-General DID NOT WANT to make an appearance in the same forum as a Malaysian politician (Nazri), knowing their credibility and image could then be tarnished if they happen to say the same things as the tarnished politician in defending the country’s practice and application of the law.
