Pasir Mas MP Datuk Ibrahim Ali today urged the government to form a royal commission of inquiry to investigate various wrongdoings allegedly committed by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Ibrahim who also heads the Malay nationalist group Perkasa told Parliament the opposition leader’s conduct in handling his Sodomy II case has embarrassed the country’s judiciary system.

“Many political leaders have been brought to courts before, but they faced the process calmly and did not resort to chaos or mobilise their supporters,” said Ibrahim when debating the Royal Address.

He showed the House two pamphlets distributed by PKR to the public to prove Anwar’s innocence.

Ibrahim also alleged that Anwar had exploited the Qatar-based renowned Muslim scholar Sheikh Yusof Qardawi to support the Permatang Pauh MP in his Sodomy II case.

He claimed that the Sheikh Yusof’s video, in which he was shown making a ruling supporting Anwar — was misleading as the questions were designed to favour Anwar.
