Back BN, Kg Buah Pala residents advise

(NST) GEORGE TOWN: A group of former Kampung Lorong Buah Pala residents have called on the Indian community to vote for Barisan Nasional’s P. Kamalanathan in tomorrow’s by-election.

The nine, who claimed they were denied any compensation by the state government after their houses were demolished last September, left for Serendah yesterday evening to help campaign for BN.

The village’s residents association chairman M. Sugumaran said their aim was to show politicians, especially those from DAP and Pakatan Rakyat who “had lied to us throughout our ordeal”, to know they could influence voters in Hulu Selangor.”

“Learn from our tragedy. Please exercise your votes carefully so that you don’t have to face miseries like what we are facing now. Vote for BN.”

Sugumaran also criticised Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, Deputy Chief Ministers Mansor Othman and Dr P. Ramasamy, Bukit Gelugor member of parliament Karpal Singh and Seri Delima assemblyman R.S.N. Rayer for “their incompetence in resolving the compensation issue”.

He recalled how Ramasamy and Rayer had vowed to stop the village’s demolition “over their dead bodies”.

He also recalled how PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had made a pre-election promise to save the village if Pakatan came to power.

“”They have neglected their duties.”
