Follow-up on “Losing territory?”

Since I wrote the post – Losing territory? yesterday morning, Dr Mahathir has also asked about this loss of territory and oil reserves in his blog – Malaysia’s Generosity.

I don’t not normally subscribe to reading Dr M’s blog but since he is Petronas’ advisor, he would have far better information than I have about the loss of these oil reserves which was once operated by Petronas.

From reading his posting, it is apparent that Blocks L & M were given away to Brunei by the then PM Abdullah Badawi but in return for what, nobody seems to know, not even the Petronas’ advisor, and those who know are not talking!

Again, many questions remain unanswered and it is imperative for our elected representatives, especially those from oil-producing states like Sabah and Sarawak to raise these questions in parliament to seek answers from the government. But do we have enough MPs from Sabah and Sarawak who are not from the BN benches to ask these questions?

The answer is NO. Currently there are only TWO MPs (one each from Sabah and Sarawak out of 56 seats) on the opposition benches!

P212 – Sibu is now vacant and it gives Malaysians from oil-producing states like Sabah and Sarawak a chance to incorrect this imbalance. Whilst I’m sure opposition MPs from peninsular Malaysia will in due course take these unanswered questions to parliament, the people of Sabah and Sarawak must help us help them – if they are worried at all about the loss of their revenues and territory!
