Malaysia’s Great Merdeka?

The Second World War saw Britain’s colonies in South-East Asia occupied by Japan, which damaged British prestige and accelerated the decline of the Empire, in spite of British victory. Within two years of the end of the war, Britain granted independence to its most populous and valuable colony, India.

During the remainder of the 20th century, most of the territories of the Empire became independent as part of a larger Global Decolonization Movement by European powers, ending with the return of Hong Kong to the People’s Republic of China in 1997. I’ve always insisted that if one’s History knowledge is hedged by extremely myopic limits, like Tok Janggut’s hobbies, and Ngah Ibrahim’s delicatessen choices, then one would completely fail to grasp the larger picture which governs what happens to the macro story.

Most are also unaware that the new British Government simply gave-away Malaysia’s independence. The old British Government was hell-bent on keeping Colonies, but this was overturned in 1951. It was in this year that the Conservative Party returned to power in Britain, under the leadership of Winston Churchill. Under this New British Government, it was deemed that the concept of keeping Colonies was “bad”. But this was not a new concept. In fact, the pro-decolonization Labour movement started in 1945, led by Clement Attlee. Britain was “freeing countries” of British Rule at a hyper-accelerated speed immediately post World War II. So, to those who still scream “Jajahan Kejam British” were simply screaming at the OLD British Regime. Few, if not NONE, are aware that the NEW British Government was giving countries back as quickly as they could fill out the necessary paperwork.

Malaysia’s Merdeka was one such. Sure, it was bloodless. This was because the British had a New Government who wanted to free her Colonies anyway. All that old “bloodshed” from before was fighting the OLD British Government.

The Commonwealth Countries was specifically formed to quietly “apologize” and “appease” all the countries which were once under British Rule. As stated, decolonization is the process by which an oppressed country or group is self-determined enough to demand its own liberation. It is, in essence, the force of the people to claim their own future, deciding the way they live their lives, from how they expend their efforts, to how they care for themselves, and how they as individuals express the right and need to be free. Many different cultures have spawned throughout the globe, so we see there are many different ways to live. We see there is not one way to live that will fit all. If we look at the table showing the Decolonization process, we see an amazing history of this decolonization process.

The British Decolonization List is as follows:

People of Malaysia. Independence to Malaysia came about because of a complete change in the British Government. It was definitely not because of any special skills of Malaysians. With all due respect to Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Malaysians were once oppressed. A new British Government stepped in and insisted that Colonization should be reversed. Thus, every country listed above were given their independence, as fast as the application forms came in. However, most Malaysians prefer to hear the more “Romantic Version”, hence, the perpetuated lie which sadly continues today.

Morons like Perkosa talk about sacrificing. We have as yet to hear what sacrifices they are speaking about. Today, Malaysia is under siege. It is ruled not by a multi-monarchy, but by a single regime not so different from Burma. They call themselves UMNO. In fact, Malaysia has been under Emergency Rule for the past 40years. Imagine that!! Still in a state of Emergency.

UMNO insists on keeping Malaysians stupid and poor. That way, you have no time to expand your horizons, to realize that UMNO is really the oppressor. You’d be too busy wokring to feed yourself, while UMNO enamour themselves with riches beyond your wildest dreams. Anyway, as mentioned before, if “Ketuanan” is the only skill and talent that UMNO has, then perhaps Malaysia is headed to it’s own watery grave much sooner than expected.
