(The Star) There is still much that Barisan Nasional needs to do for Sarawak and Sabah despite spending a lot of money in terms of projects in the two states, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

SIBU: There is still much that Barisan Nasional needs to do for Sarawak and Sabah despite spending a lot of money in terms of projects in the two states, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

“I admit that Barisan Nasional still needs to do much more. That is why it is important we have continuity in the existing government.

“There are still many areas with problems that need to be dealt with, such as land issues, flood problems, housing matters, roads, electricity supply, water supply, schools and others.

“Next month, the Prime Minister will reveal details for the 10th Malaysia Plan.

“We will then know the new projects that will be carried out for the people.

“The people in Sibu must keep their faith in Barisan,’’ he said during a visit to SK Abang Ali here.

Muhyiddin, who is Education Minister, said voters in Sibu must be wise with their votes on polling day because their future hinges on the results.

He said that the next 10 years would be very crucial for Sarawak as the Government had big plans to transform the state into a developed one.

He said the authorities were trying to overcome the flood woes, establish more educational facilities, create more jobs and business opportunities and build better roads and public amenities.
