Aminulrasyid’s shooting: Policeman charged


A police corporal today claimed trial to a charge of shooting 15-year-old Aminulrasyid Amzah who had died on the spot in Shah Alam on April 26.

SHAH ALAM: A police corporal today claimed trial to a charge of shooting 15-year-old Aminulrasyid Amzah who had died on the spot in Shah Alam on April 26.

Jenain Subi was charged under Section 304 of the Penal Code for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. He was charged at the Shah Alam Sessions Court this afternoon.

The policeman faces a maximum jail term of 30 years if found guilty. He was allowed out on a RM10,000 bail.

The case will be mentioned before Judge M Gunalan on June 10.

Aminulrasyid was shot dead by police after a 6km car-chase on April 26. The victim was alleged to have reversed and rammed the vehicle he was driving into policemen in Section 11, Shah Alam.

The official police version of event was however disputed by Aminulrasyid’s friend Azamuddin Omar, 15, who was with in the car at that time.
