Bystander shot after Malaysian cops open fire on armed man


(Today Online) Malaysian government labourer suffered chest injuries from a stray bullet when police fired at an armed man on Sunday night, making it the third such shooting incident in weeks. Mr S Surentiran, 21, a public works department worker, was critically injured after being hit by a stray bullet when two policemen fired at a former army commando who tried to attack them with a knife.

Meanwhile, police Corporal Jenain Subi was charged with manslaughter yesterday over the death of 14-year-old Aminulrasyid Amzah, who was shot after a car chase. AGENCIES
