ALOR SETAR: Umno-BN is deliberately sowing seeds of discord by harping on party hopping issues in Kedah, says Kubang Rotan state assemblyman Mohd Nasir Mustafa.
According to Nasir, it is sheer rumour-mongering, and what is being portrayed in the media, especially the mainstream media, is mischievous.
“These are baseless allegations by Umno-BN to create unrest within Pakatan Rakyat component parties and the state government itself.
“It is unethical of them to spin a negative take of Pakatan’s reps among the public,” said Nasir.
According to Nasir, Umno-BN are manipulating and taking advantage of state reps and MPs who have quit the party to become independents.
The latest rumour is that Kedah state assemblyman S Manikumar (Bukit Selambau), Tan Chow Kang (Sidam), Lim Soo Nee (Kulim) and Lee Guan Aik (Kota Darulaman) are ready to quit.
All of them are from PKR, except Guan Aik who is from DAP.
Even if they quit PR, menteri besar Azizan Abdul Razak would not hesitate to dissolve the state assembly in order to get a fresh mandate from people, said Nasir.
“But at the moment there is no need for that as everything is fine. The four have pledge their support and commitment to the Pakatan and state government.
“I don’t see any sign of defection, in fact they enjoy a very cordial relationship with the rest of their colleagues, including me,” said Nasir.
