KOTA BHARU: Although the Pakatan Rakyat-led Selangor administration has come under heavy criticism, Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim however remained unfazed during the debates in the sixth national PKR convention here.
Taking the bashing in his stride, he said that he would continue to consolidate Selangor and strengthen the grounds for national leadership.
Khalid said he had spent a sleepless night preparing a working paper for the introduction of an integrity index on administrations in all Pakatan Rakyat-led states.
He said the working paper would be tabled on Wednesday when the Selangor executive council meets.
The working paper, he said, was a follow-through to a suggestion made by PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail in her presidential address yesterday.
In her speech, Wan Azizah had urged Selangor to develop an index to evaluate its level of competency, sincerity and integrity in administration.
“I welcome the president’s suggestion regarding integrity and last night I prepared an Integrity Index for the Pakatan Rakyat government.
“On Wednesday I will approve it as a one of the guidelines to a clean administration for the people,” he said.
Khalid also proposed to appoint an executive councillor to ensure the effective dissemination of information and communication to the grassroot in Selangor.
