Gaza bloodshed: Govt urged to cancel Apco contract

(FMT) PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Rakyat wants the government to immediately cancel its contract with the Israeli-linked international consultancy, Apco Worldwide, to protest the attack on a humanitarian convoy to blockaded Gaza.

Nine activists were killed yesterday when Israeli commandos raided a ship.

The ship was part of a flotilla carrying aid to Gaza yesterday. The fate of two Malaysian journalists who were onboard is unknown.

PKR information chief Latheefa Koya said yesterday the attack on the ships carrying medicines, food, construction materials and other necessities was not justified.

“It’s murder. This is an act of cruelty and totally wrong.

“There was no justification under international law allowing the Zionist regime to act this way,” she said, adding that were parliamentarians, a Noble Peace prize winner, women and hundreds of peace activists aboard the ship.

“PKR is calling on the world to condemn the Zionist regime’s actions.

“We are also urging the government to cancel its contract with Apco immediately,” she said.
