Never ending saga

Samy, you are responsible. This grossly inefficient way of trying to close the Maika issue is not going to redeem you in the eyes of the Indian community or Malaysians. Perhaps you think your image is so tarnished it cannot get any blacker.

By Cheated Indians

The Maika share scandal continued for over 20 years, with neither the MIC nor the government exhibiting any will to end the disgrace. Scant thought was given to the hundreds and thousands of poor Indians who put their hard earned savings into the fund. If they had only put their money into fixed deposits, they would have received a tidy sum.

Alas! The poor Indians trusted their worthless leaders who, for over twenty years, mismanaged the fund. Now, all of a sudden, MIC is exhibiting a new found zeal and urgency to settle the issue and is rushing through an ill-planned venture to pay the subscribers.

In spite of the fact that 60,000 letters to share holders could not be delivered.

And there is pandemonium at centres registering shareholders. Numerous names are missing from the share register. The closing date is 22 June 2010. Regardless of the manifold problems, there is apparently going to be no extension.

Why this sudden urgency? It is a case of over 20 years of scandal being brought to an even more disgraceful close. What about the thousands who did not get letters and the many whose names have been left out of the register?

Samy, you are responsible. This grossly inefficient way of trying to close the issue is not going to redeem you in the eyes of the Indian community or Malaysians. Perhaps you think your image is so tarnished it cannot get any blacker. Even the fires of hell, which is where you are hurtling towards together with your cronies is too good for you!
