KUCHING: Former deputy chief minister Daniel Tajem has agreed to assist Hindraf Makkal Sakthi or any group that wants to bring Sarawak Chief Minister Taib Mahmud to justice and return to the people whatever ill-gotten gains that been taken abroad.
“I agree to help in whatever way I can,” he said when asked to comment on a statement by London-based Hindraf chairman P Waythamoorthy.
Waythamoorthy has named, among others, Tajem who could help in the investigation of Taib’s alleged accumulation of wealth in Canada and other countries.
Tajem had been deputy chief minister under Taib’s government. He had also served as Malaysian High Commissioner to New Zealand.
“I know how much Taib earns as chief minister, and I am prepared to help,” said Tajem, who is a noted criminal lawyer.
