Press Statement by Chin Shu Ying, LDP Youth Leader

I urge the Prime Minister to act bravely to remove this group of bad apples from BN. We must admit to the fact that there is a group of corrupt and arrogant leaders in BN and they are causing great damage to the reputation and popularity of BN.

I refer to the press conference by Tanjung Kapor Assemblyman YB Teo Chee Kang on the termination of eight local community leaders in his constituency. Clearly, once again, this is a move to undermine LDP by certain leaders in UMNO.

This group of UMNO leaders which have campaigned against LDP candidates in the last general election with the hope of wiping out LDP failed to achieve their wicked intention when all LDP’s candidates won in the last election.

Their act of betrayal was reported to the BN Chairman after the election but the UMNO top leadership does not have the guts to deal with this group of local warlords. As such, no action is taken against them although there is ample proof of their activities which are against the BN spirit.

Now they try to remove LDP’s grassroot leaders by replacing them with those loyal to them with the hope that their plan to destroy LDP will be more effective in the next election. We fully support the call by YB Teo to reinstate the eight community leaders who have served the people well and helped BN win in the last election.

I urge the Prime Minister to act bravely to remove this group of bad apples from BN. We must admit to the fact that there is a group of corrupt and arrogant leaders in BN and they are causing great damage to the reputation and popularity of BN. They are like cancer cells which, if not removed, will eventually cause the whole body to die.

As the most senior BN component party in Sabah, LDP has the responsibility to ensure the survival of BN in the next election. If our advice is not taken seriously by the BN top leadership, then we can only blame ourselves when the people decide to abandon us in the next election.
