Suara Keadilan loses publishing permit

KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 — The Home Ministry has decided not to renew PKR’s newsletter Suara Keadilan publishing permit.
The ministry’s Quranic texts and publication contoller Datuk Zaitun Samad said the decision was made following Suara Keadilan’s unsatisfactory reply over its report on the Federal Land Development Authority’s (Felda) financial status.
“The application for renewal of Suara Keadilan publishing permit that expired on June 30, 2010 will only be considered after receiving satisfactory reply from the publisher of Suara Keadilan,” said Zaitun in a statement.
The powerful ministry, which has control over all publications in the country, had asked Suara Keadilan last Monday to explain its headline article for the June 22-29 edition that claimed Felda was bankrupt.
