BN working towards a new image

(The Star) – Barisan Nasional will make amendments to its constitution with some refreshing approaches to project a new image.

Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said Barisan could no longer continue with the old ways of doing things.

“We have received the initial input and draft of the amendments which would be discussed in our first meeting soon,” said Hishammuddin, who has been tasked by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to chair the Barisan transformation working committee.

He said each component party in Barisan had already identified its respective representative to be part of the working committee.

“We are talking about empowering the people and that is a major change in the approach.”

“We did that in Umno and I hope the same can be done for Barisan,” he told reporters after opening the Sungai Siput Umno division meeting yesterday.

He also gave his assurance that the views of all component parties would be taken into consideration.
