‘Give us your trust’, PAS asks Penang Malays

KEPALA BATAS: PAS wants the Malay community in Penang to place their trust in the party and help them wrest the 11 seats now held by Umno-Barisan Nasional in the next general election.

Penang PAS deputy commissioner Rosidi Hussain said PAS has the ‘total capacity’  to assume the position of defenders of Malays and Muslims in the state.

“Although Umno won 11 seats in the last general election, it does not mean that we cannot wrest them back. In fact it’s a 50:50 situation in all these constituencies now.

“The non-Muslim communities’ confidence in PAS is increasing of late and we are recording more support from the Malays in Penang.

“These factors coupled with the current crises within the Umno and Barisan Nasional coalition in Penang is enough to give us reason to believe that we can win these seats,” said Rosidi.

He said Umno and BN are rattled by the cohesive strength reflected by PAS, PKR and DAP in Penang.
