Siapa Big Brother di Putrid Jaya?
By Putrid Jaya
1. The top banker of Malaysia, Nazir Razak, has been boasting this week that without his ingenuinity and funding, big brother Najib will not have the moolah to grease the wheels for the next general elections.
2. Now aware of louder than usual chatter of his avaricious ways and hefty fees earned the deals which the GLCs are pressured to pay CIMB and his rich and glamourous lifestyle, Nazir has been saying to people that if not for CIMB’s success, Najib may not have made it as the PM.
3. So what does this actually mean?
4. That Nazir somehow channelled funds from the bank to help his brother? (wonder what the CIMB shareholders will think about that. Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, apa mcam ni?)
5. Or that he inflated his fees so that he could finance Najib’s political progression?
6. Nazir’s assertion of his key role in the rise and rise of his big brother and his boast that he will still play a critical role for Najib brings on a whole bunch of questions. Why is a bank CEO who talks about transparency and good governance involved in the shady business of election financing?
7. Are the books in the bank being cooked or fudged for election financing? Or is this talk of financing Najib just a smokescreen to get the PM’s blessings and take more deals on the market?
