Umno Bloggers versus Pakatan Bloggers
When the pro-opposition Bloggers whack the opposition we are being malicious, mischievous, one-sided, have a hidden agenda, are Trojan Horses, and whatnot. When the Umno Bloggers whack the government leaders this is just a demonstration of freedom of speech at work.

Can you see how the Umno Bloggers do not spare their BN leaders, Ministers included? And this issue on Rais Yatim is just one of the many issues raised by the Umno Bloggers over the last one year or so since the ‘Bloggers Union’ split into two once Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was ousted and Najib Tun Razak took over as Prime Minister.
The Umno Bloggers have raised many sensitive issues that are not favourable to the ruling party. But are they accused of being Trojan Horses or enemies in the blanket? Are they accused of being Pakatan Rakyat plants sent into the ruling party to bring it down from the inside?
Yes, as alleged, back in 2006 the Bloggers were united, united against Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. But soon after the March 2008 general election, and once Najib took over as Prime Minister, the ‘Union’ broke up and the Bloggers became divided into pro-government and pro-opposition.
So, guilty as charged! I do not deny that allegation.
Pakatan Rakyat, however, does not take kindly to criticism from pro-opposition Bloggers. Umno will use this against the opposition, they argue. But it is okay for the pro-Umno Bloggers to whack their Barisan Nasional leaders. The opposition will not use this.
Before we scream that Umno and Barisan Nasional do not respect freedom of speech we should ask ourselves whether the opposition does as well. When the pro-opposition Bloggers whack the opposition we are being malicious, mischievous, one-sided, have a hidden agenda, are Trojan Horses, and whatnot. When the Umno Bloggers whack the government leaders this is just a demonstration of freedom of speech at work.
Hey, even Umno Bloggers rub the government and its leaders, ministers included, the wrong way. And police reports are made against them as well. And they too get called up by the police. It appears like the Umno Bloggers also take no shit from their leaders and at times get onto the wrong side of the law.
By the way, these Umno Bloggers hate Pakatan Rakyat and Anwar Ibrahim. Many hate me as well. But that does not stop them from whacking their own leaders. However, that appears to be something that Pakatan Rakyat does not like the pro-opposition Bloggers to do.
So what do you want us to do? You want us to say that the emperor’s clothes are lovely when he is actually stark naked. We can do that if that is what you want us to do. But that is not going to help you win the next general election.
Trust me!

Rockybru’s Ahirudin questioned over posting
(The Star) – CYBERJAYA: Blogger Datuk Ahirudin Attan was queried for about 90 minutes Wednesday at the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) headquarters in Cyberjaya, in connection with a police report lodged by a minister.
Ahirudin, better known for his blog Rockybru, arrived at the MCMC headquarters around 11.30am and left about 1pm.
Speaking to reporters at the MCMC lobby area, Ahirudin said he was questioned over his posting of rumours that a minister’s son was one of the beneficiaries in the Information, Communications and Culture Ministry’s RM1bil project to improve broadband access nationwide.
He said the officers wanted confirmation whether he was responsible for the posting on his blog, and also the links to articles on the rumours that appeared on two other blogs, Taikors and Taikuns (TnT) and bigdogdotcom.
He said the MCMC officers treated him nicely.
“I fully cooperated with the officers and they have also asked that I surrender my laptop (to help investigations) and I will comply,” he said.
It was reported Wednesday that Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim had lodged a police report on Tuesday against Ahirudin over his post “Who gets Santa Rais’ RM1bil handout?” on Oct 9, that was made after a Sept 27 posting on TnT and bigdogdotcom alleging that the telecommunication company of Rais’ son was one of nine companies that benefited from the government grant.
Ahirudin said his posting and that on bigdogdotcom did not make accusations, but presented a constructive message to the minister and ministry to be transparent on the allocation of the grant.
He added there was no malice intended on the minister.
Asked if he had been asked to provide his statement to police, the blogger said he had yet to be contacted by the police but expected the call to come soon.
