Online application to be Rela member

KAMPAR: The public can now apply online to become Rela members.

Deputy Home Minister Datuk Lee Chee Leong said application through http://irela.moha.gov.my/ was now available and that it would only take a few minutes to complete the form.

“It is easy to sign up. Just click on the link given and fill in the particulars,” he told reporters after opening an induction ceremony for new Rela recruits here Sunday.

“It will take about three weeks to process the applications, after which membership cards would be issued to the applicants,” he said, adding that the new recruits would be trained once their memberships are finalised.

Lee, who is Kampar MP, said the ministry had introduced the online recruitment portal to realise its target to have 2.6 million Rela members by the end of the year.

Under the “1Village, 1Platoon” project, he said each village in the country would have at least one platoon consisting of 33 Rela members to safeguard their respective areas.
