Shocker for Galas candidate’s wife
(FMT) GUA MUSANG: PAS candidate Dr Zulkefli Mohamad’s wife had a shock when a voting slip handed to her at a polling station did not contain the party’s symbol. Zainab Jalar, who went to cast her vote in SRJKC Kampung Baru, said only her husband’s name was on the slip.
“When I went to cast my votes, I found the voting slip given to me had no symbols of the parties contesting.
“It only had the candidates’ names,” she said.
Zainab said she immediately informed the PAS election machinery for further action.
She said they had also informed their PAS’ panel of lawyers who were present at the voting centre in Kampung Baru.
PAS lawyer Hishan Fauzi said the matter was still being investigated.
“We have reported the matter to the Election Commission to avoid a repeat of the incident at other polling centres.
“As of now, the EC has not given us any assurances,” he said.
