Khalid Ibrahim defends 100-storey tower

SHAH ALAM, Nov 9 — Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim voiced his support today for the proposed construction of the 100-storey Warisan Merdeka tower, despite opposition from other Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leaders to the project.
Khalid pointed out that the construction of 100-storey towers and skyscrapers would spur the development of the state and Malaysia.
“Now, there is a great debate in Parliament, like whether we need to build 100-storey buildings and skyscrapers in Klang Valley or the Greater KL. But to me, this is an initiative that we have to accept and work with because these buildings will revitalise Selangor and Malaysia,” said Khalid (picture) in reply to a question by Bangi assemblyman Dr Shafie Abu Bakar at the state assembly today.
