Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng hits out at Information, Communications and Culture Minister Rais Yatim who was reported to say that Penang was not doing as much for tourism and heritage compared to Malacca, another Unesco Heritage.

Rais who was in Penang a few days ago had made suggestion that the state should not be too eager to ask for federal government funds before making an effort itself to promote and conserve its heritage sites. (source : Malaysiakini)

CM Lim said Rais is misleading and confusing the people and also has bad motives with these sort of unproven accusations. In his closing comments, Lim hinted that it is hoped that Rais gets proper briefing on what heritage conservation is all about or else, during the next cabinet reshuffle, certain changes may take place.
