Gobala keeps up tweet attacks

(The Star) – Padang Serai MP N. Gobalakrishnan continued his salvo against the PKR leadership on Twitter, mainly targeting party boss Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In a tweet last night, he accused Anwar of trying to ruin the political career of former party Youth chief Mustafa Kamil Ayub.

“Anwar wants to finish off Mustafa Kamil and I am not surprised or shocked. Azmin tak suka habis lah (When Azmin doesn’t like, one is finished),” Gobalakrishnan wrote.

Gobalakrishnan, once a staunch supporter of Anwar, defended his tweets, saying that he was only speaking the “truth” about the PKR leadership.

“I’m not attacking Anwar but saying the truth only … he may be God-given but he thinks he is God,” he wrote in another tweet.

Earlier yesterday, Gobalakrishnan took aim at Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, accusing the former PKR secretary-general of not fulfilling promises to help the estate community of Coalfield in Tuan Mee in his Ijok constituency.

He claimed that Khalid had made the promise last year to allocate land to several estate workers and their families, but had not done so.

“Tan Sri Khalid, the families will be celebrating Christmas and I hope you will keep your promise to help them,” he wrote on Twitter.

He also reasserted his challenge to his party, saying that he had the courage to take on deputy president Azmin Ali when others did not.

PKR political bureau member R. Sivarasa said Gobalakrishnan’s act of distancing himself from the PKR leadership showed that he was ready to face action from the party.

“His statements give a clear impression he is provoking the party to initiate disciplinary action against him.

“He appears to be signalling his impending exit from the party,” Sivarasa told The Star yesterday.

Sources in PKR also speculated that Gobalakrishnan was deliberately provoking the party to sack him, so that he could join former vice-president Datuk Zaid Ibrahim’s Kesejahteraan Insan Tanah Air (Kita) party.
