Still waiting for APCO evidence from Anwar, says Nazri Aziz
(Bernama) – Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz said he will wait for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s disclosure on proof linking APCO Worldwide and the 1 Malaysia concept, although the Permatang Pauh Member of Parliament has been suspended from attending Dewan Rakyat sittings for six months.
Mohamed Nazri said he had asked Anwar a while back to present evidence on the allegations made in the Dewan Rakyat, but the opposition leader had yet to do so.
“I had asked Anwar to prove me wrong but he has not come up with anything. Instead, we continue to hear lies from his supporters and Malaysians know that Anwar himself has repeatedly lied at the Dewan Rakyat,” he told reporters at a Christmas and New Year’s Open House in Kampung Baru Sauk, here today.
He said the letter from APCO was prima facie evidence and strong proof for him to propose Anwar’s suspension from the Dewan Rakyat.
“Give us proof. Don’t say APCO was bought because I have shown proof that Anwar lied,” he added.
Last Wednesday, APCO Worldwide stated that a new affidavit issued had refuted its involvement in the One Israel programme, while another affidavit from a political consultant involved in One Israel verified that Anwar’s allegations were false.
On the same day, Mohamed Nazri said a letter dated Aug 19 sent by APCO Worldwide to the Parliamentary Rights and Privileges Committee denied its involvement in the creation of the 1 Malaysia slogan, and at the same time proved Anwar’s allegations wrong.
