Anwar probe a witch-hunt, says PKR

PETALING JAYA, Feb 1 — PKR today denounced the investigation into Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s alleged ties with a radical Muslim group as a witch-hunt.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said last Saturday he had ordered the police’s counter terrorism unit and the Special Branch to look into the opposition leader’s alleged links with the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Muslim Brotherhood is a fundamentalist group accused by Saudi Arabia of financing terrorist groups.
“If an investigation is conducted, it is a witch-hunt,” said Batu MP Chua Tian Chang, better known as Tian Chua, at a press conference today.
“It is targeting cheap publicity rather than having real security concerns,” he added.
