PKR’s claim of winning 40 seats in Sarawak not a threat to BN: Muhyiddin

(Bernama) — Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s (PKR) claims that the party can win 40 seats in the Sarawak state election will not pose a threat to Barisan Nasional (BN) said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin here today.

Muhyiddin said such claims would only result in parties within the opposition pact, clamouring over each other, to wrest a seat in the election.

“They (Opposition) will be fighting among themselves but that is their problem,” he said at Sekolah Kebangsaan Ulu Lubai, about 55km from here. Muhyiddin who is also BN deputy chairman said opposition parties do not have a clear path in their political struggle and they do not have the people at heart.

He said BN were already prepared to face the Sarawak state election that is expected to be held before the month of July.

Muhyiddin said Sarawak BN chairman Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud who is also the Sarawak Chief Minister had already announced that he got the inspiration for the election date.

“Only he (Taib) knows when the date will be. It may be around the corner so we have prepared ourselves,” he said.
