Sarawak NGO seeks meeting with Najib

MoCS wants to inform the prime minister about the wealth accumulated by Chief Minister Taib Mahmud’s family.

(Free Malaysia Today) – The Movement for Change Sarawak (MoCS) wants to meet Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak to inform him about what is happening in Sarawak, especially the massive wealth accumulated by Chief Minister Taib Mahmud’s family.

MoCS leader, Francis Paul Siah, told FMT he is seeking a meeting with Najib after MoCS leaders felt that they should go all the way to the top in their quest to put things right in Sarawak and the country.

“On Thursday, I reminded Najib’s political secretary, Dr Oh Ei Sun, via e-mail of my intention to see Najib. I first wrote to Oh on March 2.

“The appointment I seek is out of respect to Najib as our prime minister. I want to have a serious word with him as well as to hand over the documents we submitted to MACC last Friday.
“If he agrees to meet MoCS, well and good; if not, we’ll take it that he isn’t interested in Sarawak or that he considers MoCS an irrelevant NGO. The choice is his to make, not ours. Just don’t say later that we are anti-national elements who didn’t make an effort to seek his help,” he said forwarding to FMT his e-mail to Oh, who is a Sabahan.

Among others, Siah said in his letter to Oh that as a people-centric movement, MoCS sees it as necessary that if Sarawak is to move forward, it must get rid the state of political corruption, nepotism and despotism which have been seriously embedded in the state’s current political system

According to Siah, his Kuching-based MoCS is also seeking to meet with MACC chief, Abu Kassim Mohamed, in Kuala Lumpur as soon as possible as a follow-up to many reports lodged at the MACC.
