Najib: 1 Malaysia needs more explanation

KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 17 — Datuk Seri Najib Razak today conceded that his 1 Malaysia concept required further fleshing out, despite having been implemented since 2009.
“We need to explain the concept in detail… even though majority of people understand the concept, there is a lot of explaining to do,” Najib said in Parliament today.
In a reply to Kulim-Bandar Baharu MP Zulkifli Noordin, the premier labelled attacks against the 1 Malaysia concept as “baseless accusations” made by politicians who felt “politically threatened”, in a thinly-veiled reference to Pakatan Rakyat (PR) lawmakers.
“I didn’t say everything is ideal today… but the 1 Malaysia concept is accepted and understood by all Malaysians,” said Najib.
PR lawmakers as well as former PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed have criticised Najib’s brainchild, calling it ambiguous and saying that it contrasted drastically with the government’s policies.
