Opposition pact to announce seat allocation for Sarawak polls this week

(Bernama) – The opposition pact is expected to announce this week the allocation of seats for the 10th Sarawak election.

Deputy PAS president Nasharudin Mat Isa said on Thursday, March 24 that discussions among his party, PKR, the DAP and SNAP have completed and the allocation of seats would be announced “in a day or two.”

“We have just finished discussions with PKR. Also with the DAP. We also do not have any problem with SNAP,” he said.

The Sarawak legislative assembly was dissolved on Monday.

The Election Commission has set April 6 for nominations and  April 16 for polling.

In the 2006 Sarawak election, Barisan Nasional won 63 of the 71 state seats, and the DAP six. PKR and Parti Cinta Malaysia got one seat each.
