10 held for demonstration at KL Sentral

KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested 10 people, including three journalists, for disrupting public peace, after a group of people gathered in front of KL Sentral Sunday morning to hold a demonstration.
Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Wan Abdul Bari Wan Abdul Khalid said police recorded the statements of those detained before releasing them at 1pm.
“We are investigating the case under Section 37 of the Police Act,” he said, adding that the group did not have a permit for the gathering.
It is learnt that the group, which included university students, had gathered there around 10.30am to protest corruption.
