IGP: Police have sufficient evidence to identify man in sex video

(The Star) – KUALA LUMPUR: Police have sufficient evidence to identify the man in the sex video implicating an opposition leader, Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said Thursday.

He added that investigations into the video were expected to be completed next week.

“We are now ascertaining, who is the owner of the (Omega) watch handed to the police,” he told reporters here.

To a question on whether the woman in the video had been located and interviewed, Ismail said the “police have managed to talk to everyone involved in the sex video”.

On March 21, newsmen were shown a 22-minute video, showing a man resembling the opposition leader, having sex with a woman, by a man who identified himself only as ‘Datuk T’. He claimed the video was recorded on Feb 21 in a local hotel room.

Early this month, a ‘teaser’ of the controversial video was loaded on popular social video site YouTube.

The one minute, 47 second clip showed a man in a towel and a woman in what appeared to be a hotel room.
