Anwar Gives Statement to Police at Dang Wangi
(Malaysian Digest) – Opposition Chief Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was at the Dang Wangi police station today to give a statement in connection with a sex video where the man in the video was said to look like him.
Anwar arrived at the police station at 2.50pm in a car together with his wife, Datin Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and his brother-in-law, Wan Mokhtar Wan Ismail.
Talking to the media after giving his statement to the police Anwar stressed that there are two reason on why he lodged a report.
“First, this report is due to the second part of sex video leaked on you tube and blogsite yesterday. Second reason is Eskay (Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah) urging me to step down as opposition leader,” said anwar.
Anwar also said that there is no such thing in this country where people are free to expose and distribute sex video for public viewing.
“Distributing this kind of video(sex video) to the society is a crime,” he added.
When asked by the press whether he knew Eskay personally, Anwar answered by telling the media that “Eskay is a cheap Umno tool!”
Last March 21, the video was screened to a select group of media representatives by a group known as “Datuk T” at Carcosa Seri Negara here.
Police began investigation into the sex video after Anwar lodged a report and denied that he was the man in the video.
