Umno ready to hold discussion with PAS

(Bernama) — Umno is ready to hold a discussion with PAS on the issue of Malay unity, Umno information chief Datuk Ahmad Maslan said Thursday.

Ahmad, who is also Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, said that both Umno and PAS should resolve their disputes to avoid further disunity of the Malays.

“It is high time for us to see the future position of the Malays,” he said after giving a briefing to Umno members on current issues in Indera Mahkota here Thursday.

He said Umno was committed to hold a discussion with PAS, and it was hoped that PAS would share the sentiment.

Prior to this, he said Umno and PAS had unofficially discussed the issue of Malay unity and such a discussion should be continued.
