KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 — A government valuer estimated the land purchased for the troubled Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) project at RM17 psf although Putrajaya allegedly bought it for RM25 psf, Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik’s corruption trial heard today.

On the first day of the former transport minister’s high-profile trial today, a retired valuer from the Valuation and Property Services Department (JPPH) said she valued 400 acres of land in Pulau Indah — with an access road and basic infrastructure — based on market prices in 1998.

Teo Lee Lee, 63, told the High Court here that the JPPH headquarters later revised her valuation to RM18 psf in 2000.
