PAS Youth slams Azmin for Dr Hasan rebuke
(The Malaysian Insider) – PAS Youth charged at PKR deputy president Azmin Ali today for interfering in its internal matters by urging punishment on Datuk Dr Hasan Ali.
PAS Youth deputy chief Dr Raja Ahmad Al-Hiss reminded Azmin that even if Dr Hasan appeared to be crossing swords with his own party leaders, the latter was still a PAS member.
He said Azmin could have raised his complaint against Dr Hasan at the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leadership council instead of speaking to the media.
“We would like to state that Dr Hasan is still a PAS member and Azmin needs to respect that.
“Secondly, Azmin’s statement should have been channelled to the PR council and not through pro-Umno media,” he said in a statement here.
Azmin yesterday urged PAS to take action against Dr Hasan for urging university students to stay away from PKR’s planned rally next Monday to support Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
PKR has called on its members and all PR supporters to turn up in large numbers at the Jalan Duta court complex in Kuala Lumpur to show support from Anwar, who is facing the possibility of a jail term.
Azmin had said Dr Hasan’s statement violates the spirit and principle of PR, adding the latter should not have issued such remarks.
In his statement, Dr Hasan had also warned that the country risked descending into anarchy if Malaysians persisted in resorting to protests to air their grievances.
However, Dr Hasan’s statement appeared to contradict that of his party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang who has appeared to offer his backing to the “901” gathering.
