RPK claims graft and power abuse by five PKR leaders

(The Star) – Self-exiled blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin has exposed alleged corruption and abuse of power by PKR leaders in the Selangor Government.

In his latest posting on the Malaysia Today portal, he singled out five leaders for taking advantage of their positions.

Raja Petra accused a relative of a senior PKR leader of asking for a bribe from a developer in connection with a project.

He said the relative told the developer that he was representing the leader and could arrange for a meeting for the latter to give his personal assurance.

Raja Petra claimed that the project ended up “in tatters” when the developer refused to pay the bribe.

He also accused four other PKR leaders of enriching themselves by taking the lion’s share of legal work handed out by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).

The blogger alleged that that one of them even relocated his legal practice into a “new swank office” in MBPJ and that another was now being chauffeur-driven in an “expensive continental car”.

However, Raja Petra said he still supported Pakatan Rakyat but said the people should get the opposition parties to clean up their act immediately.

“I suspect that the next general election will be held in March 2013. That means we have more than a year to set things right,” he added.

Several of the PKR leaders named by Raja Petra posted rebuttals on their Twitter accounts.

One of them described Raja Petra’s claims as “politically motivated lies”.

Another posted a humorous spin, inviting people to visit the supposed “swanky office”.
