Anwar acquitted
(Free Malaysia Today) – Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim was today discharged and acquitted of a sodomy charge by the High Court here.
High Court judge Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah said that he was not 100 per cent sure that the DNA evidence was not compromised.
“It is not safe to conclude…the court is reluctant to convict the accused based on such evidence,” said the judge.
“As such the accused is acquitted and discharged,” he said.
The court exploded with a loud cheer with many grinning with joy.
