Gobalakrishnan, Utusan and TV3 face RM2.5m defamation suit

(The Malaysian Insider) – A RM2.5 million defamation suit was filed against Padang Serai MP N.Gobalakrishnan and three others for allegedly defaming lawyer Lawyer Manjeet Singh Dhillon.

The lawyer in his statement of claim forwarded to Bernama Online named with the lawmaker Utusan Malaysia reporter Raja Syahrir Abu Bakar, Utusan Melayu (M) Berhad and Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad (TV3) as defendants.

Messrs Americk Sidhu filed the suit on behalf of Manjeet at the High Court Registrar on September 26 last year.

Case management is slated for February 9 by High Court Judge Dr. Prasad Sandosham Abraham in his chambers today.

Americk Sidhu himself represented Manjeet while the defendants were represented by Jason Wee and Kenn Gee (for TV3); Hasnal Rezua Merican (for Gobalakrishnan) and Sarah Abishegam (for Raja Syahrir Abu Bakar and Utusan Melayu).
