Chief Sitting Bull and UMNO
A horrible realization is setting in upon me. Are we on the eve of destruction?

“Hear me, people: We have now to deal with another race – small and feeble when our fathers first met them, but now great and overbearing. Strangely enough they have a mind to till the soil and the love of possession is a disease with them. These people have made many rules that the rich may break but the poor may not. They take their tithes from the poor and weak to support the rich and those who rule”. Chief Sitting Bull.
How eloquently Chief Sitting Bull put it. For Sitting Bull it was the U.S Army that continually invaded his territory creating problems for his people.
In Malaysia it is UMNO that is doing to us what the U.S. did to Sitting Bull. UMNO harass and continues to invade the personal space of its own people in order to protect their own interest.
The same UMNO that in 1946 – a year before I was born – came into being.
This same UMNO became an “Alliance” with the Malayan Chinese Association in 1954, and in the same year in state elections won 226 out of the 268 seats nation wide.
In 1955 the Alliance – now expanded to include the Malayan Indian Congress – won 51 of the 52 seats contested in state elections and Tunku became Chief Minister of Malaya.
Much water has passed under the bridge since then. Fast forward to today and we now have an UMNO that has become that ‘race’ that Sitting Bull talks about! That ‘race’ that is now :
· ‘great and overbearing’
· ‘Love of possession is a disease to them’
· ‘Made many rules that the rich may break but the poor may not’
· ‘take tithes from the poor and weak to support the rich and those who rule’.
That ‘race’ is what UMNO has become! The rape by UMNO of our nation is almost done and yet they will surely come back for second helpings. And they have done all this legally!
And now what is UMNO embarking upon? What is their next insidious agenda?
What they have done to the Malays they now want to do to the non-Malays! Just look at what is happening today!
It starts with the handing out of RM500 1Malaysia’s People’s Assistance (BR1M) to household earning a monthly income of RM3,000 and below nationwide.
And in Pekan 328 UPSR pupils and 146 PMR students received RM200 each contributed by the Pahang Foundation.
It is highly irresponsible of this UMNO led Barisan Nasional government to conditioned the non-Malays to be what they have made the Malays to be – addicted to being spoon fed.
Muhyiddin recently said that among the strategies were plans to expand people-focused initiatives, such as the 1Malaysia Clinic, Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia and, most recently, the 1Malaysia Rakyat Menu, a programme encouraging food vendors to offer package meals with a maximum price of RM2 for breakfast and RM4 for lunch.
The government had also announced the NKRAs on rural basic infrastructure (RM5.1 billion) and urban public transport (RM1 billion).
The government had absorbed almost RM22 million in subsidies to lessen the people’s burden.
And all these initiatives are for what?
To lessen the people’s burden?
