Pas disagrees with Anwar’s stand on Israel

(New Straits Times) – In an apparent dig at Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim over his statement to protect the security of Israel, Pas Youth said yesterday that it was not acceptable and right for Muslims to support Israel.

Pas Youth chief Nasrudin Hassan, in a comment on his Facebook account, said that Israel had committed great sins against Muslims.

“Even if we have to bow down to America for the sake of taking over Putrajaya, it is unacceptable and not right for us to support Israel let alone to give them protection.”

Student association, Mahasiswa Aman, also disagreed with Anwar as Malaysia had for years supported the rights of Palestinians.

“Anwar’s statement gives the impression that we are recognising and condoning whatever the Israelis are doing,” said its president Akmal Saufi Mohamed Khaled.
