MCA rep wants PKR, DAP to respond to Azizan’s statement

(The Star) – The MCA wants PKR and DAP to state their stand following remarks by Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak that the state government would not follow Pakatan Rakyat’s Buku Jingga or Common Policy Framework.

Gurun assemblyman Dr Leong Yong Kong said DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng had declared the Buku Jingga to be common issues agreed upon in black and white by Pakatan parties to collaborate on.

“What have PKR and DAP to say, now that Azizan has nullified the Buku Jingga?

“Once again, despite the so-called equal partnership which DAP touts exists within Pakatan, the Rocket should openly acknowledge that such politically-correct’ statements were made purely to rein in the votes.

“In reality, hardline PAS dominates (within Pakatan) and even PKR cannot stop it,” he said in a statement.

Azizan had said that Kedah would not follow the Buku Jingga because it was not the Quran and that it was not obligated to follow the framework’s policies.

Azizan had been criticised for his support for the use of the Universities and University Colleges Act against five Kolej Universiti Insaniah students in May. Abolishing the Act is included in the Buku Jingga.
