Selangor to Study Report That Man Detained in Indonesia Linked to Exco Member’s Photo Scandal

(Bernama) – The Selangor state government expressed concern with reports that a man detained by Indonesian authorities for immigration offences was likely the ex-lover of a Selangor executive councillor.

A statement from the Selangor Menteri Besar’s office today said the report would be studied in detail before any further action was taken to pursue the matter.

The Batam immigration claimed investigation had indicated that the alleged man came from an address similar to the ex-boyfriend of Selangor PKR executive councillor Elizabeth Wong.

Wong was caught up in a scandal over her leaked semi-naked photos more than three years ago which she claimed was taken without her consent while the man believed to be responsible for releasing the photos had since been missing, thus hampering investigations.

“The issue will be brought up during the Party Keadilan Pakyat (PKR) political bureau meeting on Wednesday and an announcement made after that,” said the statement.

The Free Malaysia Today online portal had reported that the Indonesian authorities had arrested a person allegedly linked to PKR for immigration offences on Friday.
