Whistleblower throws new dirt on old characters
The anonymous blogger TheWhistleblower711 today posts more incriminating evidence against the same five high-profile individuals he ‘exposed’ previously.
The blogger had alleged that the three government officials had received kickbacks and were “bought” by the same businessman, Advance Maintenance Precision Management Sdn Bhd (AMPMSB) and Gerbang Perdana managing director Yahya Abd Jalil. The kickbacks, made through periodic or monthly contributions, were allegedly for the purpose of obtaining contracts from the federal government and its agencies.

“TheWhistleblower711”, the anonymous blogger who made headlines for his exposé implicating several high-profile individuals in corruption, today published a new posting with new incriminating “evidence” and called for swifter action by the authorities.
“It has been more than six months since the case first surfaced and was known to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and more than two months since my first exposé last November 2011. But until today no concrete actions have been taken by the authorities against the people that I’ve named in my exposé,” TheWhistleblower711 said in a posting today.
The whistleblower said that he would stop implicating new parties for awhile as “all my previous exposé have fallen on deaf ears.” Instead, today’s posting was made to “turn up the heat by a notch” against those people he previously named by disclosing more “intimate details” to assist MACC investigations.
On Dec 18, FMT first broke the story on The Whistleblower711′s allegations of covert dealings implicating, and naming, Deputy Finance Minister Awang Adek Hussin, and two aides working under Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin respectively.
The blogger had alleged that the three government officials had received kickbacks and were “bought” by the same businessman, Advance Maintenance Precision Management Sdn Bhd (AMPMSB) and Gerbang Perdana managing director Yahya Abd Jalil.
The kickbacks, made through periodic or monthly contributions, were allegedly for the purpose of obtaining contracts from the federal government and its agencies.
Proof of these “bribes” was published in the blog in the form of scans of several cash deposit slips, together with the serial numbers. These were alleged to be the personal accounts of the government officials.
The alleged bribes for Awang Adek were made in relation to a contract to provide services to Bangunan Sultan Iskandar and Johor Baru Sentral in Johor by the Public Works Department, a contract Yahya’s companies allegedly won.
Half truth
On Dec 21, Awang Adek admitted to receiving “political contributions” to his personal account as alleged but denied that it amounted to corruption.
He said the contributions were used for social programmes in Bachok, where he is the Umno division chief.
While Najib has yet to respond to allegations against his aide, Muhyiddin said on Dec 27 that he would look into the allegations that his senior private secretary Mohd Shukor Abdul Manan received more than RM100,000 in kickbacks. He claimed to be unaware of any wrongdoings.
More recently, TheWhistleblower711 had also alleged that former Cabinet minister Azalina Othman Said received RM300,000 from Yahya.
Azalina, who is Umno MP for Pengerang, former Tourism Minister and former Youth and Sports Minister, had later admitted to receiving the money but denied it was for corrupt purposes.
She had explained, through her press officer Zulkifli Mat Rawi, that Yahya had bought a classic car Mercedes Benz 280SL (1969 ) from her.
In the posting today, TheWhistleblower711 first targeted Awang Adek and rebutted the latter’s claim that as a deputy finance minister, he was not involved in awarding any contracts.
The blogger claimed that Awang Adek was telling only “half truth”.
New document
He said Awang Adek was in fact the chairman of Skim Jejak Jaya Bumiputera (SJJB) under the Finance Ministry.
He claimed that a trustworthy source informed him that SJJB is also “the committee that initiates all major government contract awards”.
“As the chairman of the SJJB working committee, he (Awang Adek) has all the right to initiate and make recommendations on any major government contract award… he has everything to do with the Johor Baru Sentral project award,” the blogger said.
SJJB was first established in 2007 by Najib, who was then deputy prime minister, with the objective of assisting Bumiputera companies to be listed on Bursa Malaysia.
SJJB now comes under the Unit Penerajau Agenda Bumiputera (Teraju), a unit under the Prime Minister’s Department.
“Otherwise why would he (Awang Adek) make a site visit to Bangunan Sultan Iskandar and Johor Baru Sentral on Dec 2, 2010…?” asked the blogger, who hinted that the official reason of the visit – to monitor the progress of the medium-term link to Bangunan Sultan Iskandar – smacks of another scandal.
The blogger also published scans of a new document, a “payment voucher” issued by “AMPMSB” dated Dec 6, 2010 amounting to RM80,000.
The document showed that the receiver section was left blank but had a note of what seems to be instructions to address the payment to “Ahli Parlimen Bachok”. The description of the payment was “public relations”.
Secretive manner
Questioning the manner the payment voucher was written, the blogger said: “Why would the ‘contribution’ be given to Awang Adek in such a secretive manner if the intention is for public programmes?”
TheWhistleblower said that a steady, monthly “contribution” received from one source seems “very odd and highly suspicious”, especially if it was credited into a personal account.
“A personal account should not have been used by a public official for a public programme. Why (is it that) only after my exposé you revealed that you accept monies… for public programmes? Why have you not advertised… so more people can contribute? I rest my case.”
TheWhistleblower also asked why there has been no response or action taken against the two aides of Najib and Muhyiddin
The blogger questioned Muhyiddin’s comments that he will conduct an investigation, but todate, no concrete action has been taken.
“The very least he can do is suspend the aide pending an internal investigation,” said the blogger.
TheWhistleblower also zoomed in again on Azalina’s case.
The blogger alleged that the classic car that Azalina claimed to have sold would not fetch anything more than RM200,000, much less RM300,000.
