PKR leader asked to give statement over alleged khalwat case

(The Star) – A high-ranking PKR leader has been asked to turn up at the Pahang Islamic Affairs Department (Jaip) on Monday over a “khalwat” (close proximity) case with a married woman.

Jaip deputy director Datuk Mohd Ghazali Abd Aziz said on Sunday that the politician and the woman were required to give their statements as part of the investigation into the case.

“It is the normal procedure for people involved in cases of this nature. Once the investigation has been completed, the papers will be submitted to the prosecution for further action,” he added.

The high-ranking Selangor PKR leader and the woman were caught by a JAIP enforcement team at about 3am on Saturday at a hotel in Balok here.
