Anwar’s Letters Soliciting Support from Jewish Groups Exposed


(Malaysian Digest0 – Two letters allegedly written by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to an organization with ties to international intelligence agencies in 2007 revealed that the Opposition leader had solicited foreign intervention to pressure the Election Commission (EC).

The letters which were posted on a blog called AnwarAIDC today alleged that Anwar had asked for the support of the President of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) Carl Gershman for these purposes.

According to the blog, a letter dated June 18, 2007 and July 29, 2007 used an ‘Anwar Ibrahim & Associate’ letterhead, was signed by Anwar and directed to the Gershman in Washington D C.

The blog claimed that Anwar Ibrahim & Associates is a company owned by Anwar and based in Virginia, USA.

It also said that, in a letter dated 18 June, 2007, Anwar thanked Gershman for inviting him to give a talk at The Westminster Address Library of Congress in conjunction with the 25th year of the administration of former US president Ronald Reagan.

Anwar in the same letter also sought for Gershman to provide assistance by sending international observers to Malaysia during the general elections.

Gershman is a Jewish figure and a member of the neoconservatives in the United States.

The same blog also revealed that Anwar also sent a letter to George Soros in 2006.

The letter which was posted on the blog revealed that Anwar wanted to collaborate with a Soros-owned organization based in New York.

Utusan Malaysia reported that Anwar’s former private secretary, Anuar Shaari (pic) confirmed the existence of such a letter.

“I have seen the letters and it was written by Anwar Ibrahim to the individual at the time,” said Annuar.
