Former IGP denies links to the underworld

(The Star) – Former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan refuted allegations that he and Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail were involved with underworld elements.

Musa was responding to an article published yesterday by an online news portal, which claimed that he and the A-G were responsible for covering up and tampering with investigations into Johor’s underworld kingpin Goh Cheng Poh aka Tengku Goh in 2007.

“Those who make the allegations are irresponsible and want to create problems.

“All of us, including the A-G and I, were investigated by the then ACA (now the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) and we were cleared of any wrongdoing,” he said yesterday.

Musa added that he may seek legal action against those responsible for the claims.
